Apollo was built in the 70s among four sister ships by German shipyard Meyer Werft, and therefore they were nicknamed the Papenburg Sisters. Most of them have been built for company Viking Line. Apollo was delivered to Rederi A.B. Slite in April 1970. The following month, she was introduced between Kapellshär (SWE), Mariehamn (FIN) and Nädendan (FIN) by Viking Line.
In 1984, Apollo was sold to Nordisk Færgefart which chartered her immediately to Brittany Ferries. Renamed Benodet, she was introduced on the Roscoff – Plymouth service.
British Channel Islands Ferries chartered her in in 1985, renaming her Corbiere for service between Portsmouth and the Channel Islands. She operated BCIF’s services until 1989 when she was chartered in by Truckline Ferries for service between Poole and Cherbourg.
In 1991, she was sold to Oy Eckerölinjens A.B. and chartered in by Estonian New Line, which renamed her Linda 1. Chartered by Tallink in 1995, her name reverted to Apollo. In early-2000, she was sold to Labrador Marine Inc which has been operating her since between Blanc Sablon and Sainte-Barbe (CAN).
